Direct fastening in ultra-high-strength materials
The MAXXtip® screw extends the possibilities of direct fastening by combining a bainitic load-bearing screw shaft with an ultra-hard thread-forming tip. With that, direct fastening can be expanded safely to materials like high- and ultra-high-strength steels as well as cast steel. The very high hardness of the tip secures reliable thread forming, while the bainitic microstructure is resistant when it comes to hydrogen embrittlement. The result: reduced number of process steps, safe assembly in materials with tensile strengths up to 1500 MPa, and sustainable, removable fastening solutions.
